Publishing on the internet - Paper 1 - Introducing Finance Users to SAP - Just What Does SAP do? by John Zywar

Well, after working in engineering, production and inventory control and finance over the past 33 years, I have a few thoughts that I would like to share with anyone who has an interest in a few subjects.

Two of these "papers" have been reviewed throught the academic review process but not deemed sufficiently relevant to publish in an academic journal. So now I am just going to publish these on the internet through this blog and on Google's Doc & Spreadsheet facility.

The first paper is about training finance people to use SAP. SAP is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software that models the processes of a business including the transactions that feed the business' financial system. After working on an SAP implementation for two and a half years, I was involved in the training for the FICO or FI/CO modules in SAP. The training was designed by consultants who had training manuals constructed for each FICO submodule. But there was no coherent introduction and overview of SAP. After reviewing the literature available via books and the internet, I concluded I needed to provide this introduction to SAP myself. The paper takes about an hour to present and can be found at:

Does this introduction to SAP make more sense to you?
